Man. YouTube more or less just made me spend $44.21 on the first two OFF! albums.
I was watching a phenomenal early 80’s live version of The Circle Jerks’ “Live Fast Die Young” and that took me to wikipedia. I then read that Keith Morris teamed up with the dude from Burning Brides to make a new band. I remember when I got that first Burning Brides album in 2001 it blew my socks off (I actually found an original File13 issue that was autographed by the band in the $2.50 section of the record store I worked at back then)
Anyhow, after reading this information, I was on board and watched some videos on youtube and it excited me.
In my humble opinion, I think Keith Morris has the best punk rock yell ever. This stuff is intense. Most of the songs are like a minute long. I love it.
This video is extra cool cos Raymond Pettibon is the subject of the video.
The only thing that bums me out is that I have to turn to a 56 year old man for good “modern” American hardcore that I don’t find too trite.
